(How many countries are there)
There are currently 195 countries in the world, according to the United Nations. This includes 193 member states, which are countries that are full members of the United Nations, and 2 observer states, which are the Holy See (Vatican City) and Palestine. However, the number of countries in the world is not fixed and can change over time. For example, a country may gain independence and become recognized as a new country, or two countries may merge together and form a new country.
UN (United Nation) Member States
Members of the United Nations (UN) are countries that have formally joined the organization by ratifying the United Nations Charter. There are currently 193 member states in the UN, which represents almost all of the countries in the world. As members of the UN, these countries have equal representation in the General Assembly and the right to participate in the decision-making process of the organization. They also contribute to the work of the UN in various ways, such as by paying membership fees and participating in peacekeeping missions. Being a member of the UN carries certain responsibilities, such as upholding the principles and goals of the organization and promoting international cooperation
